Applications are invited from the qualified candidates who possess
the requisite qualification and eligibility detailed hereunder, for filling up of the
following posts at Government Ayurveda Medical College, Kottar, Nagercoil,
Kanyakumari District, Tamil nadu.
Nature of Appointment:
These appointments are purely temporary in the regular scale of pay
of Rs.15600-39100 PB3 GP 6600.

Professor -2 Posts [one each in Rachna Sharir and Dravya Guna]
Reader – 3 posts [one each in Samhita and Siddhanta, Rachna
Sharir, Roga Nidan
Educational Qualification:
Professor
1) Professor in Rachna Sharir M. D. Ayurveda in Rachna Sharir /Sharir /Basic
Principle
2) Professor in Dravya Guna M. D. Ayurveda in Dravya Guna
Reader:
1) Reader in Samhita and Siddhanta M. D. Ayurveda in Samhita and Siddhanta
2) Reader in Roga Nidan M. D. Ayurveda in Roga Nidan
3) Reader in Rachna Sharir M.D. Ayurveda in Rachna Sharir / Sharir /Basic
Principle Mandatory criteria:
Must have registered with the concerned State Council of individual’s
domicile under Class – A or Class – A Special
Age: Should not have completed 45 years as on 01.07.2011.
Experience:
for the post of Professor : Total teaching experience of ten years in the
concerned subject is necessary out of which there should be five years of
teaching experience as Reader / Associate Professor in the concerned subject or
ten years of teaching experience as a Lecturer in the concerned subject in an
Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital recognized by the CCIM.
for the post of Reader : Total teaching experience of five years in the subject
is necessary out of which there should be three years of teaching experience as
Lecturer in the subject concerned in an Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital
recognized by the CCIM.
Preferences:
Preferences will be given to those
⇒ who have greater teaching experience
⇒ who have research degrees
⇒ who have contributed to Medical Journals
⇒ who have commendable credentials in the field
⇒ who have knowledge of Tamil Language
Pay: Regular time scale of pay Rs.15600-39100 PB3 GP 6600 with usual
allowances
Selection procedure:
The selection will be made through a personal interview on merit
basis. Candidates who are called for interview will not be paid any TA & DA.
Procedure to apply:
Only candidates possessing qualification in the subjects mentioned
above need to apply. Application form is separately appended to this notification.
Every candidate should submit the application only in the prescribed format.
Application not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected. While applying
the candidates should mention clearly the post to which his candidature has to be
considered for. The candidates should submit separate applications for each post.
Fee Prescribed : There is no fee for applying to the posts.
Last date for the receipt of Application :
Those candidates who wish to apply shall submit their applications in
the format appended to this notification along with attested copies of their
testimonials so as to reach this Office on or before 19.01.2012. The applications
received after the stipulated dated will not be entertained under any
circumstances and will be summarily rejected. The Department will not be
responsible for any postal delay.
