Question Received
Dear Dr. Bruno,
I have been reading your blogs with great interest. Though I belong to Tamil Nadu, presently I live in Bangalore. I have a question regarding the eligibility of candidates from outside Tamil Nadu for the PG seats offered by various medical colleges inTamil Nadu.
My son has completed his MBBS in 200* from MS Ramaiah Medical college Bangalore, Karnataka. He wants to apply for a PG seat in one of the colleges in Tamil Nadu. He says that there is a new rule which forces all the PG Doctors to serve in Govt Hospitals (after completing PG) for three years in Tamil Nadu Govt Health Services. Is it true ? Are they really enforcing this rule ?
I will be grateful if you can give an answer to this question,
Thanks in advance,
Regards,

Yes. If you are selected through TNPG
They are enforcing this rule from 2007. In 2007 and 2008 it was compulsaryHowever, from 2009 they have modified it in such a way that, If you do not want to serve, you can pay the penalty amount and get your certificates.
However, working in TN Govt Services is a real learning experience and many still have joined this year too
Where did your son complete his 10th and 12th. If it is outside Tamil Nadu, UNLESS YOU GET A NATIVITY CERTIFICATE, he will not be eligible for TNPG, but eligible only for AIPG. If a candidate is selected through AIPG, he need not join

Dear Dr. Bruno,
I am a medical intern in KMC, Manipal, Karnataka. I hav been folowing your website for quite sometime now and it has been very useful. Thanks a lot for all your inputs.
Since I am a native of tamilnadu but only studied till 7th standard in Tamilnadu, I had the similar doubt regarding my eligibility to sit TNPG exams 2010..I had gone to Selection Committee in Chennai to enquire about the same. With respect to that I was told that a person of tamilnadu nativity having studied MBBS from any college recognised by MCI is eligible for writing the TNPG exam. It is required that we have to obtain immigration certificate, internship cmpletion certificate and tamilnadu medical council registration certificate at the time of counselling. Please kinldy verify this.
Thank you.

In a bad economy, any career is good enough. One of many careers available is in the dental field. In dental offices, you will most likely see dental assistants, dental hygienists, and dentists. Dental assistants’ average salary is $17 an hour. They don’t bring home as much as dental hygienists or dentists, but they are in a meaningful field. Additional job statistics can be researched on the internet.
