The Officers noted in the depatch entry is invited to the reference cited
and they are again informed that it has been proposed to fill up the vacant post of
Health Officers in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service by transfer of service from
the post of Assistant Surgeons in Tamil Nadu Medical Service appointed after
29.6.95 working in Primary Health Centres with MBBS qualification and three years
experience in government service.
2) The Assistant Surgeons in Tamil Nadu Medical Service for considering
selection to the post of Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service in the
Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 plus Rs.5700 Grade pay should furnish an
undertaking to the effect that they are willing to be permanently absorbed as
Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service and will not request this
department for reversion as Assistant Surgeon in Tamil Nadu Medical Service.
The Assistant Surgeons in TNMS on selection as Health Officer in Tamil Nadu
Public Health Service have to acquire public health qualification within four years
from their date of joining duty as Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health
Service for becoming full member of the service. They shall be deputed to
undergo Medical Council of India recognized courses as service candidate.
1. P.G. course -DPH/MD (CM) course at Madras Medical College, Chennai.
DPH course at All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health,
Kolkatta /MCI recognized at National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai.
2. The Medical Officers once absorbed as Health Officers in Tamil Nadu
Public Health Service are not entitled for deputation to any other PG
course other than the courses mentioned above.

3. Seniority in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service will be fixed as per the
existing rules governing for fixing of seniority.
4. The Assistant Surgeons in TNMS willing for appointment as Health
Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service should have minimum of 15
years for retirement.
3) The Deputy Director of Health Services noted in the despatch entry are
therefore requested to call for the willingness from the Assistant Surgeons
working under their control with three years experience as on 31.1.2012 and send
their details to this office along with their undertaking in the format enclosed for
permanent absorption as Health Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Health Service.
4) The report in the matter should be in the prescribed proforma enclosed
herewith should reach this office before 31.1.2012 positively.
This may be treated as urgent.
