NOTIFICATION
Nitte University will be conducting Nitte University All India Post Graduate Entrance
Test, NUPGET-2012 on 19-02-2012 (Sunday) for candidates seeking admission to
MD/MS and MDS in its constituent colleges, namely, K S Hegde Medical Academy and
A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, for the academic year 2012-13.
Eligible candidates desiring to appear for the entrance test may download the application
forms from our website www.nitte.edu.in.
The last date of receipt of application for NUPGET-2012 by the Registrar, Nitte University
is 31.01.2012.

NUPGET – 2012
1. Introduction :
Admission to Post Graduate courses offered by Nitte University is based on merit in
the All India Post Graduate Entrance Test, NUPGET- 2012 conducted by the
University. Based on inter se Merit in the Entrance Test, students will be admitted to
MD/MS and MDS program in the constituent colleges namely K S Hegde Medical
Academy, Mangalore and A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences
respectively.
2. Eligibility:
Candidates who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance
Test, namely:
1. He/she is a citizen of India
2. He/she must have studied and passed courses leading to the award of
Bachelor’s Degree scoring at least 50%, in case of SC/ST 40% marks in
aggregate from a college recognized by the DCI for MDS candidates and MCI for
MD/MS candidates.
3. He/she has completed or is completing compulsory rotatory internship on or
before 30th April 2012
4. Must be less than 45 years of age as on 30-4-2012
Note: Applications are liable for rejection if
1. incomplete
2. received after the last date (31-01-2012)
3. not signed by the candidate
4. photographs are not of recent origin
3. Entrance Test Fee:
The candidates are required to pay the Entrance Test fee of Rs. 2,000/- through A/c

5. Submission:
The filled application with all relevant documents should be sent to the Registrar,
Nitte University, Deralakatte, Mangalore (D.K) – 575 018 by Speed Post so as
to reach before the last date or may be handed over in person at the University Office
on any working day before the last date. Candidates should superscribe the sealed
envelope carrying application form: “APPLICATION FOR NUPGET – 2012”. Test
Admission Ticket (TAT) for the Entrance Test will be sent by post to the postal address
furnished by the candidate in the TAT.

i) Mode of conducting the test:
1. Medium of Entrance Test will be English.
2. Each question carries one mark. Correct answer will be awarded one mark.
There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
3. Question paper (booklet) is of 3 hours duration consisting of 200 multiple choice
questions. Subject wise distribution of questions/marks would be approximately
in the range as given below:
4. There will be at least 4 versions of the question paper booklet and therefore
serial number of question differs from version to version.
5. Questions will be of multiple choice type, each having one best response out of
four alternatives.
6. Answer sheet (Response Sheet) is of Optical Mark Reader (OMR) type and is to
be marked as per instructions on it, using a black or blue ball point pen.
j) General Instructions:
i) CELL PHONES/ELECTRONIC gadgets are NOT permitted inside the
Examination Hall. Any candidate found guilty of disorderly or
improper conduct during the test will be liable for expulsion and will
be debarred from writing the Entrance Test by the CHIEF
SUPERINTENDENT of the Centre
ii) The candidates shall appear for the Entrance Test at their own cost, in any
one of the centres as per the choice indicated by them in their application
form and TAT. PRIOR PERMISSION SHOULD BE SOUGHT FOR CHANGE OF
CENTRE through the e-mail. ([email protected] or [email protected])
iii) Each candidate will be given a TAT Number and the Test Admission Ticket
will bear this number. Seating arrangements with this number will be
displayed at the Test Centre.
iv) Candidates shall be present at the centre 30 minutes before the
commencement of the Test.
v) Only those candidates who possess the Test Admission Ticket shall be
allowed to write the Entrance Test. However, a duplicate may be issued
against a payment of Rs. 100/-.
vi) No candidate shall be admitted to the Hall 15 minutes after the
commencement of the Test.
vii) No candidate will be allowed to leave the Hall before the end of first 30
minutes. Candidates leaving the hall prior to the end of test will have to
handover the question paper and OMR sheet to the room invigilator and
collect the question paper after the Test is over. No candidate will leave
the room without handing over the OMR sheet.
viii) Candidates should sign the Attendance Sheet as per the instructions of the
invigilator.8
