Surgery, Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics
c. M.D.S.** (Master of Dental Surgery): Orthodontics, Prosthodontics,
Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral Pathology, Periodontics, Oral
& Maxillofacial Surgery, Pedodontics, Oral Medicine & Radiology and
Public Health Dentistry

4. Eligibility:
MD / MS – the candidate must have passed the MBBS examination and should
have completed satisfactorily one year of compulsory rotatory internship after
passing the final MBBS Examination upto 30th
April, 2012 and should have
permanent registration with Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.
MDS – the candidate must have passed the BDS examination and should have
completed satisfactorily compulsory rotatory internship as per DCI rules &
regulations after passing the final BDS Examination upto 30th
April, 2012 and
should have permanent registration with Dental Council of India / State Dental
Council.
5. Duration: 3 years (for candidate holding PG Diploma in the same Medical
subject, the course duration shall be 2 years).2
The above duration will be counted from the date of joining the Course by the
candidate.
The duration of stay required by a candidate admitted to MD / MS / MDS degree
Course shall be 36 months. In case of candidates holding a Diploma Course in
the same Medical specialization prior to his / her admission to the MD / MS, the
duration of stay shall be 24 months. For all the Courses, the duration of stay
shall be counted from the date of joining the course after completing admission
formalities. Leaves admissible as per the rules may be availed. Attendance
requirement for all the PG Courses in each academic year shall be as per MCI /
DCI / University regulations.
6. Character: The proposed entrance examination will be of All India character
and students not only from Rajasthan domicile but also from any part of India as
well as Foreign Nationals / NRI’s are eligible to appear in this Nims University
All India Combined Pre-PG Examination 2012 provided that the candidates
fulfill other eligibility criteria for admission to MD / MS / MDS course as per the
rules and regulations of the MCI / DCI.
7. Entrance Examination: A Common Admission Examination (MCQ type) for
MD /MS and a Common Admission Examination (MCQ type) for MDS will be
held for the admission to Postgraduate Degree. The minimum percentage of
marks for eligibility for Counseling shall be 50% in the Admission Examination.
8. Counseling: There will be counseling for admission to Post Graduate Courses in
different subjects. The selected candidates of PG Medical / Dental Admission
Examination appearing for Counseling will be required to fill a Proforma.
Candidates shall appear before the Counseling Committee in person.
9. Penalty:
a. For getting admission / registration in the Nims University the tuition fee
(full / part), registration charge (full / part) and any other charges, fee (full
/ part) which a candidate has deposited to the UNIVERSITY, shall not be
refunded under any circumstances in case he fails to take admission
within the stipulated time.
b. After the admission formalities are completed, if a candidate intends to
cancel his admission due to one or the other reasons, or if he discontinues
his studies or requests for cancellation of his admission from the course,
even though, he has not attended any class, fee / any other charges paid by
him, will not be refunded to him on any pretext and he shall be required to
deposit fee for remaining years (duration) of the course and the amount of
stipend received by him as P.G. student from the University also as he has
utilized one seat of the programme / discipline.
c. In case, candidate has paid fee in part and he requests cancellation of
admission, he shall not be refunded fee paid by him.
10. Information Brochure & Application Form: This is common for entrance
examination for admission to MD / MS / MDS courses.
a. Issue of Information Brochure and Application Form: The
prospectus containing Application Form for entrance examination for
admission for the academic year 2012-13 can be obtained from the office of
the Registrar, Nims University, Shobha Nagar (Jaipur-Delhi Highway),
Jaipur-303121 and Nims University, NIMS City Centre, 4, Govind Marg,
Near Moti Doongari Circle, Jaipur-302004 during working hours in person
on payment of Rs.6000 (Rupees Six Thousand only) by cash or DD or
Banker Cheque drawn in favour of NIMS UNIVERSITY payable at 3
JAIPUR. If the form is required by post, a D.D. of Rs.6100 (Rupees Six
Thousand One Hundred only) should be submitted.
Application Form can also be downloaded from the website
www.nimsuniversity.org and sent complete in all respects along with
requisite fee.
b. Last date for submission of filled-in Application Form: The
Application Form complete in all respects, along with necessary
enclosures / documents must be sent by Speed Post or Registered Post or
by hand to the Controller of Examinations & Admissions, Nims
University, NIMS City Centre, 4, Govind Marg, Near Moti Doongari
Circle, Jaipur-302004.
The last date for submission of application form is 14th February,
2012 (5:00 PM).
c. Application Form: All the eligible and interested candidates of getting
admission in MD / MS / MDS courses shall apply only in prescribed
application form. The details of obtaining Information Brochure
containing Application Form and submission of application form are given
in Para 10.a.
Candidate shall fill-up the Application Form in capital letters (block
letters) written neatly and legibly.
Applicant should send a self addressed envelope (9” x 4”) for sending
admit card. The candidate shall write his / her address correctly on the
envelope.
All correspondence and queries should be addressed and sent
only to The Controller of Examinations & Admissions, Nims

d. The admit card containing roll number and name of the examination
centre will be sent to the candidate by Registered Post / Speed Post /
Courier. In case the admit card is not received by 17th February 2012, the
candidates may contact the Controller of Examinations &
Admissions. The candidates are advised to visit the website to see their
names & centre of examination written in the list of admit cards.
Duplicate admit card can be issued at the centre of examination after
payment of Rs.200 (Rupees Two Hundred only) up to 2 hours before the
start of examinations. Candidate will be required to report at the
examination centre along with a photograph and identity proof to the
University Observer at the Examination Centre. The University Observer
after confirming the identity of the candidate will issue duplicate admit
card. Candidates are advised to paste most recent photograph only on the
admission form to avoid identification problem.
Candidates may visit our website for details regarding Nims
University All India Pre-PG (Medical / Dental) Examination 2012
and Results. In fact, we advise the candidates to visit our website
regularly. No separate advertisement will be issued before the
examination regarding examination centres. The University shall
not be responsible for candidate not visiting website.4
11.Examination Centre: The examination will be held at Nims University,
Shobha Nagar (Jaipur-Delhi Highway), Jaipur-303121. Additional centres may
be arranged if considered necessary. This will be informed to the applicants
beforehand on the website: www.nimsuniversity.org
12.Other General Information:
a. Admit Card to take up the Admission Examination will be issued by the
University only to those eligible candidates whose Application form,
complete in all respects, has been received in the University on or before
the last date of receipt as notified in this Guide and the candidate fulfills
all eligibility requirements prescribed for admission to the concerned
course of study.
b. Candidate should satisfy himself / herself that he / she fulfills the
eligibility requirements prescribed for admission to the concerned course
of study. In case any candidate who does not meet the eligibility criteria
prescribed for the concerned course of study is inadvertently issued Admit
Card, then such candidate shall appear in the Admission Examination at
his / her own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the
candidate does not fulfill the eligibility requirements, the admission, if
granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.
c. Admit Card shall be sent to the candidate at the correspondence address
as mentioned in his / her Application form by Registered / Speed Post.
Candidate should also ensure that he / she has in his / her possession the
proper Admit Card before he / she reaches the Examination Centre. The
candidate should contact immediately the Controller of Examination in
case of any discrepancy noticed in the Admit Card.
d. The University reserves the right to make changes in the notified
Admission Examination Schedule.
e. Selected candidates shall not be allowed to complete admission formalities
in absentia. Candidate not reporting for admission on the stipulated date
and time, shall forfeit his / her claim for admission. The offer of admission
shall stand cancelled and no correspondence in this regard shall be
entertained.
f. No candidate shall be admitted unless he / she has completed all the
eligibility requirements at the time of admission.
g. Candidate is required to produce the original Mark-sheets / Certificates,
including the statement of marks of the qualifying examination with the
requisite percentage of marks at the time of reporting for admission,
failing which they shall not be allowed to complete the admission, and the
offer of admission shall stand cancelled and no further correspondence in
the matter shall be entertained. It is made clear that NO Mark-sheet /
Grade-sheet / Certificates downloaded from the Internet shall be accepted
at the time of admission.
h. The candidate selected for admission shall have to submit the Original
Migration and Character Certificates from the Head of the Institution /
University last attended at the time of admission. Candidates who are not
in a position to submit the Migration and / or Character Certificate at the
time of admission, shall give an undertaking on Notary Public Affidavit to
submit the same within one month from the date of his / her admission,
failing which the University reserves the right to cancel his / her
admission and no claim in this regard shall be entertained.5
i. No candidate admitted to a full-time course of study in the University
shall accept or hold any employment paid or otherwise or shall be full time
student of any other Institution / University during the course of his / her
study at the University except those specifically permitted by the
University in accordance with rules.
j. The University reserves the right to get any student medically examined
and if found medically unfit, the admission of such student will be
cancelled.
k. If any error / omission in the processing / verification of certificates /
documents of a candidate is detected after the candidate is admitted to a
course in the University, the University has the right to cancel such
admission at any stage on detecting the error / omission.
l. If it is found, at any stage, that a candidate
i. does not fulfill the eligibility requirements
ii. has used fraudulent means to secure admission
iii. has made false or incorrect statement(s) in the application form
iv. has not signed in the application form or somebody else has done so
on his / her behalf.
He / she shall not be allowed to complete the admission formalities, or in
case already admitted, his / her admission shall be cancelled, ipso facto.
m. All admissions shall be provisional.
n. The candidate shall not be entitled to claim admission as a matter of right
even if he / she is otherwise eligible. The University reserves the right to
refuse admission to any individual without assigning any reason.
o. The University reserves the right not to admit any candidate to a course of
study even though a notification inviting applications for admission to the
same has been issued.
p. Canvassing in any manner for securing admission shall render a
candidate disqualified.
q. Answer Sheets pertaining to the Admission Examination(s) and
Application Forms of the non-admitted candidates will be weeded out after
04 months of the closing Date of Admissions.
r. The University handles a large number of Application Forms every year
and it is not possible to preserve these Forms and relevant materials for a
long period. Therefore, in case of any dispute regarding admission, the
matter must be filed within 04 months of the closing of admissions after
which the relevant records may not be available.
13.Result:
a. The Result will be displayed on the website www.nimsuniversity.org only,
in due course of time.
b. No separate mark-sheet will be dispatched.
c. No correspondence shall be made to candidates not selected for admission
and the documents / photocopy of certificates / Examination Fees shall not
be returned.
14.Fee Structure:
a. Tuition Fee: At present – MD / MS Rs.600000 (Rupees Six Lacs only),
MDS Rs.400000 (Rupees Four Lacs only).
b. The fee structure may change if directed by the committee without prior
notice.6
15.Jurisdiction:
a. Any dispute in the process of selection / admission is subject to Jaipur city
Jurisdiction only.
b. University has the right to change the dates of admission process,
examination centres etc. due to unavoidable circumstances.
c. University has the right to cancel the entrance Examination without
giving any reason and in that case fee paid by the candidate will not be
refunded.
16.The University reserves the right to make any change(s) in the process
of conducting the examination.
17. Instructions for filling up of Application Form: The applicant is required to
write his / her full name exactly as given in his / her High School / Secondary
School Certificate.
The date of birth is required to be given in the Christian Era.
Incomplete Application Forms or received after due date and without requisite
fee shall not be considered and no further correspondence shall be entertained in
this regard.
18. Instructions for Admission Examination: The medium of examination shall
be English.
Candidates are required to use only ballpoint pen to mark their responses in the
Answer Sheet.
For every question, there are four options, only one of which is correct. The
candidates should select only one option which they think is the most
appropriate and indicate their choice in the answer sheet by putting Cross Mark
in the appropriate answer box.
Any stray marks on the Answer Sheet are not allowed. Answer Sheet should not
be folded, torn, rolled or mutilated.
Candidates are required to bring their own Stationary Items required to write
the Admission Examination.
Use of Mobile Phones / Pagers / Calculators or any other electronic gadgets are
strictly not allowed in the Examination Hall, if found using those they will be
debarred from examination.
The Examination Centre assigned to each candidate shall be clearly mentioned
in his / her Admit Card. Candidates are advised to see the seating arrangement
chart which shall be displayed on the Notice Board of the concerned Examination
Centre one day before the Examination date.
Candidates appearing at the Admission Examination shall have to make their
own arrangements for boarding and lodging.
19.Documents required at the time of submission of Application Form:
i) Mark-sheet of final professional MBBS / BDS Examination.
ii) (a) Those who have already completed their compulsory Rotatory
Internship must submit a copy of completion certificate.
(b) Those who are undergoing Rotatory Internship must submit a
certificate from the Dean or Competent Authority indicating probable date
of completion of Internship.
iii) Permanent or temporary registration from MCI / DCI or State Medical
Council / State Dental Council.
All these should be attested by a Gazetted Officer and also self attested.
20.Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission: The following
original certificates / documents of the candidates admitted shall be received in 7
the Office of the Principal, NIMS Medical / Dental College at the time of
admission:
1. Secondary School Certificate
2. MBBS / BDS Degree
3. MBBS / BDS Final Professional Mark-sheet
21. Absence and name removal: The name of a student of PG Degree course in
the NIMS Medical College / NIMS Dental College may be removed:
(a) On his own request in writing to the Vice-chancellor submitted through the
Principal, NIMS Medical / Dental College and as per the Regulations of
University;
(b) On account of non-payment of his / her arrears after being given appropriate
notice and reasonable opportunity to pay the fees / dues of the University /
Hall of residence;
(c) On account of gross misconduct by order of the Vice-Chancellor or by the
Disciplinary Committee;
(d) On account of continuous absence for 15 days or more from the class or
Clinical / Lab duties without obtaining prior leave. The Principal, NIMS
Medical / Dental College will give a notice to the student at his / her last
known residential and permanent addresses by registered post / speed post
asking him / her to resume his / her studies within a period of 15 days from
the date of issue of the registered letter; and if the student fails to resume his
/ her class / studies within the time granted, the Principal, NIMS Medical /
Dental College shall recommend to the Vice-Chancellor for removal of the
name of the student immediately.
22.Notwithstanding anything contained in clause 21, the total absence from study
with due permission on medical ground, shall be sixty days and thereafter, the
name of the student shall be removed from the rolls of the University and no
correspondence shall be entertained and no medical certificate shall be
admissible for a continuous period of more than sixty days.
23.The documents shall be returned to the candidates on completion of the course or
at the time of removal of his / her name from the rolls of the University after
clearing the outstanding University dues.
24. All admissions shall be provisional in the first instance and shall be liable for
cancellation at any time if it is found that the candidate has furnished wrong
information or has concealed the facts intentionally.
25. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
1. The Candidate must write his / her Roll Number in figures as well as in
words in the space provided on the top of this examination-booklet and on
the answer sheet (attached at the end of this booklet) and nowhere else.
2. Candidate is required to check the question booklet and answer
sheet before answering the questions. In case of any discrepancy /
deficiency noticed, the candidate is required to bring it to the notice of the
invigilators within 5 minutes of the commencement of the examination,
after that no change of the booklet will be allowed.
3. All questions are compulsory and carry one mark each. There is negative
marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer.
4. Candidates can do rough work wherever any space is available in the
question booklet but not on the answer sheet.8
5. The candidate is required to cross (×), viz. A, B, C or D of the best
alternative amongst the four options available against each question in the
appropriate space on the answer Sheet. For example:

6. Evaluation will be done on the basis of the answer given by the candidate on
the answer sheet only. Answers given on the question-booklet will not be
considered for marking.
7. Usage of only blue / black ball pen is allowed. Usage of pens of other
colours or pencil is not allowed.
8. In any case, the answer sheet is not to be detached from the
examination-booklet. Intact examination-booklet along with the answer
sheet should be handed over to invigilator before the candidate leaves the
examination hall.
9. Cutting and overwriting on the answer sheet will not be evaluated.
10. Making any identification mark anywhere in the answer sheet or
tampering or writing Roll Number anywhere other than the space
provided for the purpose, will lead to disqualification from the
examination.
11. Use of unfair means will disqualify the candidate.
12. Use of calculator or any other electronic / communication device in the
examination hall is not allowed, if found, action will be taken as deemed fit.
Instructions given on the question booklet / answer sheet must be
followed strictly failing which answer sheet shall not be evaluated and
the candidate will be debarred from admission.
