MD Programme at IMS & SH – Session 2012

MD Programme at IMS & SH: Doctor of Medicine (MD), a 3 years course approved by Medical Council of India (MCI) at Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital (IMS & SH), a constituent of Siksha O Anusandhan Deemed to be University, for six MD courses for the academic session 2012 starting from May 2012.
SOA University is going to conduct entrance test for admission into MD courses with specialization in Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology on 29th January 2012 (9.00 AM to 12.30 PM). Specialization: Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology

Eligibility Criteria: Minimum of MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. Must have completed the required period of 12 months pre-registration Internship from a recognized hospital on or before 31st March 2012.

Examination: The Examination will be held on 29th January 2012 (Sunday) at 9.00 AM to 12.30 PM. The examination pattern will be multiple choices with 300 questions from Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical Subjects. The candidate has to select the correct response by darkening the correct circle. Each correct answer shall fetch 4 marks whereas each incorrect answer will lead to deduction of 1 mark.

Reservation of seats:

1. 8% of the seats will be reserved for the candidates belonging to Schedule caste (SC) (By Birth).
2. 12% of the seats will be reserved for the candidates belonging to Schedule Tribe (ST) (By Birth).
3. 3% of the seats in all category will be reserved for the candidates belonging to physically Handicapped (PH) as per MCI Guidelines.

SC / ST Candidates have to produce Certificates from the Tahasildar of the place of birth at the time of counseling. PH candidates have to produce medical certificate from medical board of Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital at the time of counseling.

Stipend : 1st year – Rs. 16000 /- Per month, 2nd Year – Rs. 21000 /- Per month , 3rd Year – 26000 /- Per month

Fees:
Course fees :Rs. 5,50,000/- Per Annum
Hostel fees :
Rs.35,000/- (1st year)
Rs.32000/- (2nd / 3rd year)
Rs. 2,500 /- P.M. (approx.) towards fooding

Counseling :
Admission to MD Courses will be provisional on the day of counseling which will be done on merit basis.Candidates have to be present in person for counseling.

Counselling Process : Candidates have to report with the following Original Documents and DD of Rs. 30,000 /- Drawn in favor of Siksha O Anusandhan University Payable at Bhubaneswar.
(i) Admit Card duly signed by the invigilator
(ii) Rank Card downloaded
(iii) 10th and 12th Mark Sheet and Pass certificate
(iv) Mark Sheets of MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Examinations and Degree Certificate
(v) Internship Completion Certificate from the Head of Institution
(vi) Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or State Medical Council
(vii) SC / ST / PH Certificate
(viii) Two sets of photocopy of all the above documents
